THE MERRICK GROUP RANKS #55 ON THE INC. 500'S LIST OF FASTEST-GROWING PRIVATE COMPANIES
Houston, TX August 24, 2006 – The Merrick Group, a Houston-based Internet retailer operating several home furnishing websites, was ranked 55th on Inc. magazine's 25th annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the country. The Merrick Group achieved the ranking with a three-year sales growth of 1,139%.
The Merrick Group's two largest websites – AngelBeds.com and SleepBetterStore.com – utilize aggressive online marketing to get in front of shoppers searching for high-end sleep products. The company is looking for better values than traditional retailers.

The 2006 Inc. 500, as revealed in the September issue of Inc., reported the most robust bunch of companies the magazine has ever compiled, with aggregate revenue of $19.7 billion, up from $16.5 billion last year and $12.9 billion in 2000. Most importantly, the 2006 Inc. 500 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 90,000 jobs since those companies were founded.
The Merrick Group is now focusing on further developing its core brands, SleepBetterStore.com and AngelBeds.com. By expanding distribution and broadening reach, The Merrick Group hopes that these brands will one day become household names.
